Remote | Full-Time International Contractor | Supporting U.S.-Based Clients Technical SEO | Local SEO | Website Health | Organic Growth Strategy Deck Builder Marketers is looking for a Technical SEO Specialist who knows how to identify, diagnose, and solve the technical issues that impact organic growth. This role is responsible for improving website health, resolving indexing and crawlability issues, strengthening local search visibility, and helping our clients generate more qualified leads through organic search. You’ll work directly with strategists, account managers, and developers to turn SEO recommendations into measurable business results. You’ll manage SEO across multiple websites and local markets, which means no two days look exactly the same. You know how to diagnose indexing and crawl issues. You can explain canonicals, robots directives, and structured data without Googling them. You are comfortable owning SEO strategy and performance across multiple clients. This Role Is NOT For You If… Your primary SEO experience is content writing or content optimization. You have never performed a technical SEO audit. You are unfamiliar with crawlability, indexation, schema markup, canonicalization, Core Web Vitals, or Google Search Console troubleshooting. You have never worked directly with developers or content writers to implement SEO recommendations. What You’ll Be Responsible For: Technical SEO Conduct technical SEO audits and identify performance issues. Address indexing, crawlability, and site structure problems. Improve Core Web Vitals and site performance. Identify and recommend schema markup opportunities. Work closely with the web development team to implement fixes. Develop and implement SEO strategies that increase rankings, traffic, and qualified leads. Conduct keyword research and identify opportunities to improve rankings, visibility, and search intent alignment. Optimize on-page SEO including metadata, headers, internal linking, and content structure. Manage local SEO performance, including Google Business Profiles. Performance Analysis Track and analyze SEO performance using tools such as: Google Analytics Google Search Console SEMrush or Ahrefs Identify ranking drops, traffic changes, and growth opportunities. Report on progress and provide recommendations for improvement. Analyze competitors to identify ranking opportunities. Identify gaps in content and keyword strategy. Help position our clients to outperform competing contractors in their market. Important: This role is primarily focused on technical SEO, website health, local SEO performance, and organic growth strategy. It is not a content writing or copywriting position. Our Best SEO Specialists Have: 5+ years hands-on SEO experience (agency experience preferred) Managed 20+ websites simultaneously Identified and resolved crawlability, indexing, or site health issues Worked directly with developers Uses Google Search Console as a primary diagnostic tool Experience explaining SEO to non-technical clients Tools You Should Already Know Google Search Console Google Analytics 4 SEMrush or Ahrefs WordPress Schema markup tools Use AI to speed up research, analysis, and repetitive tasks Leverage AI to support technical audits and content optimization Continuously explore new tools and workflows Focus on efficiency without sacrificing quality Use AI to enhance expertise—not replace it Work Style This role is best suited for someone who: Communicates clearly in English with internal teams Ability to work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm ET Takes ownership of outcomes, not just tasks Is highly analytical and comfortable working with data Is proactive about identifying problems and solving them100% Remote Full Time International Contractor $28,800-$36,000 USD annual compensation U.S. Holidays Off Ongoing Professional Development & Career Growth Opportunities Our Core Values: At Deck Builder Marketers, we hire for character just as much as capability.
